Modern Life Is Rubbish

Modern Life Is Rubbish is a Britpop album by Blur, released on May 10, 1993 (see 1993 in music). The second album by the British rock sensation, Blur incorporated more psychedelic and grunge influences into Modern Life Is Rubbish, and the album was generally well-received, keeping the band relevant during the grunge era of the UK.

Four singles were released in the United Kingdom. "Popscene" was released in April of 1992 without an accompanying LP. It hit #32. It was an attack on the homogeneous nature of the music industry and represented a change in musical direction for Blur. The song would later become a fan favourite.

In 1993, "For Tomorrow" (#28), "Chemical World" (#28) and "Sunday, Sunday" (#26) were released from the album in the UK.

On Billboard's (North America) Modern Rock Tracks chart, "Chemical World" peaked at #27.
