Mesick is a village located in Wexford County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 447.

United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 3.0 km² (1.1 mi²). 3.0 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 447 people, 159 households, and 114 families residing in the village. The population density is 151.4/km² (392.9/mi²). There are 185 housing units at an average density of 62.7/km² (162.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.66% White, 0.67% African American, 0.22% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.45% from two or more races. 1.57% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 159 households out of which 44.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.1% are married couples living together, 15.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% are non-families. 23.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.81 and the average family size is 3.28. In the village the population is spread out with 33.6% under the age of 18, 9.6% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 16.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 102.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.3 males.
