Melvyn Bragg

Melvyn Bragg (born 6 October 1939 in Carlisle, Cumbria, England is a British author, tv presenter and journalist, famous for his television arts programme The South Bank Show. He has also been an appointed member of the House of Lords since 1998, as Lord Bragg of Wigton.

He studied Modern History at Wadham College, Oxford.

In 1999 he became Chancellor of Leeds University.
