census of 2000, there are 772 people, 290 households, and 216 families residing in the village. The population density is 764.3/km² (1,968.7/mi²). There are 301 housing units at an average density of 298.0/km² (767.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.45% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.52% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 1.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 290 households out of which 45.2% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.5% are married couples living together, 15.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.5% are non-families. 21.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 3.06. In the village the population is spread out with 32.4% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 31.2% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who are 65 years of age or older.
