Mansfield Center is a town located in Tolland County, Connecticut. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 973.

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.8 km² (3.4 mi²). 7.9 km² (3.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.9 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 10.56% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 973 people, 373 households, and 239 families residing in the town. The population density is 123.2/km² (318.9/mi²). There are 382 housing units at an average density of 48.4/km² (125.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 92.19% White, 1.23% African American, 0.21% Native American, 4.01% Asian, 0.10% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 1.85% from two or more races. 1.44% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 373 households out of which 25.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% are married couples living together, 6.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.9% are non-families. 26.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 2.85. In the town the population is spread out with 18.8% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 23.8% from 25 to 44, 25.9% from 45 to 64, and 23.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 87.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.4 males.
