Malene Mortensen

Malene Winter Mortensen (1982?) is a Danish singer. She was totally unknown when in 2002 she won the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix, the Danish preselections for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Her song was called "Hvis mig hvem du er". Being a potential winner, she totally failed in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 with the English version of it, "Tell me who you are" - she didn't get any points at all.

Although her Eurovision result was a shock for both the Danish audience and herself, she did not give up her musical career. In 2003 she released her debut album called "Paradise". This album contains modern jazz, and Malene was accompanied by three of the most wellknown jazzmusicians of Denmark: Niels Lan Doky (piano), Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen (bass) and Alex Riel (drums).
