Major consensus narrative

The expression major consensus narrative was coined by Bruce Sterling in his book Zeitgeist as an explanatory synonym for truth. A perfect illustration of this concept is Wikipedia itself, where truth is created in a narrative process which is based upon factual evidence and eventually consensus about the different arrays of factual evidence.

Some sociological background to this assumption can be found in the theory of social construction of reality.
