Lucius Mummius

Lucius Mummius was a Roman statesman and general appointed in 146 BC to lead the Romans in the Achaean War. He easily defeated Diaeus before marching on to Corinth. He burned the city, killed everyone there, and sent all valuable works of art to Rome. He was prompted to do this by the Senate and was awarded with a triumph when he returned to Rome.
