Lisle is a village located in DuPage County, Illinois. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 21,182.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 21,182 people, 8,663 households, and 5,241 families residing in the village. The population density is 1,283.9/km² (3,323.7/mi²). There are 8,997 housing units at an average density of 545.3/km² (1,411.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 83.38% White, 3.47% African American, 0.19% Native American, 9.79% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 1.68% from other races, and 1.47% from two or more races. 5.49% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 8,663 households out of which 31.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.8% are married couples living together, 6.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.5% are non-families. 31.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 3.15. In the village the population is spread out with 24.4% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 35.5% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 7.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 100.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.7 males. The median income for a household in the village is $65,821, and the median income for a family is $86,917. Males have a median income of $56,151 versus $37,104 for females.
