Leslie Hore-Belisha

Leslie Hore-Belisha was a British Member of Parliament and Cabinet minister. As Minister for Transport between 1934 and 1937, he was responsible for the introduction of the driving test and the Belisha Beacon. He was Secretary of State for War at the outbreak of World War II, and was responsible for the introduction of conscription to meet the threat of Nazi Germany.
