Lake LBJ

One of the seven Texas Highland Lakes, Lake LBJ was formed by the construction of Wirtz Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Originally called Lake Granite Shoals, it was renamed in 1965 for President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

Lake LBJ is used as a venue for aquatic recreation and also provides cooling water for the Thomas J. Ferguson power plant in Granite Shoals, Texas.
