Lake Buena Vista is a city located in Orange County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 16.

History

Founded in the late 1960's by The Walt Disney Company when they purchased massive amounts of orange groves outside of the City of Orlando. Their plan was to build a new amusement park (Walt Disney World Resort Opened in 1971). The Mayor, Business Administrator and City Council are all appointed and are employees of The Walt Disney Company. The only employees who are not under the director of Disney is the Reedy Creek Improvement District which provides Fire Protection and Utilities services such as Electricity and Water. Reedy Creek was founded and chartered by the State of Florida Legislature as an publicly funded agency of the state.

Lake Buena Vista is located at 28°22'39" North, 81°31'18" West (28.377362, -81.521728)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 12.7 km² (4.9 mi²). 12.5 km² (4.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.84% water.

Demographics
