La Presa is a town located in San Diego County, California. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 32,721.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 16.0 km² (6.2 mi²). 14.5 km² (5.6 mi²) of it is land and 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 9.39% water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 32,721 people, 10,008 households, and 7,986 families residing in the town. The population density is 2,256.0/km² (5,843.6/mi²). There are 10,236 housing units at an average density of 705.7/km² (1,828.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 50.21% White, 14.48% African American, 0.88% Native American, 9.83% Asian, 1.13% Pacific Islander, 16.35% from other races, and 7.13% from two or more races. 33.05% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 10,008 households out of which 43.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.6% are married couples living together, 16.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.2% are non-families. 14.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.25 and the average family size is 3.55. In the town the population is spread out with 31.3% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 30.5% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
