Kopspijkers is a Dutch talkshow that has been running on Dutch public television since 1996. It has received the '
Zilveren Nipkow' award - which is awarded by tv critics every year for best tv-shows - in the year 2003.
It's a humoristic talkshow and stands out for it's extensive amount of cabaret. This cabaret is much like the
English tv-show
Spitting Image, but with real actors. Political leaders like
Jan Peter Balkenende,
Wouter Bos and Gerrit Zalm are frequently impersonated. Kopspijkers is one of the best viewed programs in the Netherlands.
The host of the tv-show is Jack Spijkerman (which is the basis for the title of the tv-show).
