Klaatu

Klaatu was a Canadian rock band in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Their first eponymously-titled album had a Beatlesque sound, particularly in the song "Sub Rosa Subway", but contained no biographical material, thus inspiring a rumor that the album was an anonymous project by the Beatles.

Their song "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft", recorded on their first album, was covered by the Carpenters in 1977.

The band takes its name from the name of Michael Rennie's character in the science fiction movie The Day the Earth Stood Still from 1951.
