Keratoconus

Keratoconus is an eye condition in which the cornea becomes misshapen and looks more like a cone than part of a sphere. Vision can become distorted quite badly, affecting the person's ability to function normally. Initially the problem can be treated with glasses but as the condition worsens, hard contact lenses are required. In the worst cases a corneal graft (keratoplasty) is required, which is having one of it's best success rates in keratokonus (long term stability about 90 %)
