James M. Beck

James M. Beck (1861-1936), was a Solicitor General of the U.S. who was called to the English bar. He was to argue a case for the U.S. before the Privy Council. No foreign barrister had ever been permitted to do so before. He served as Congressional Representative from Pennsylvania, and appeared on the cover of Time magazine on May 5, 1923.
