James Hepburn, 1st Duke of Orkney

The Duke of Orkney

James Hepburn was the 4th Earl of Bothwell and 1st Duke of Orkney. He had a liaison with Mary I of Scotland in 1566, and became her third husband. The next year his titles and estates were forfeit for treason.
