J. Phillipe Rushton

J. Phillipe Rushton, professor at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, author of a highly controversial paper (Philippe Rushton, "Evolutionary Biology and Heritable Traits (With Reference to Oriental-White-Black Difference)". Paper presented at the Symposium on Evolutionary Theory, Economics and Political Science, AAAS Annual Meeting (San Francisco, CA, 19 January 1989)) purporting to show that Europeans and Asians are on average more intelligent than Africans. Rushton has been accused of associating with right-wing extermist anti-immigrant groups.

Rushton's theory is based on an attempt to apply R-K selection theory to humans. He argues that Africans use the R strategy (produce many offspring, but provide little care for them) while Europeans and Asians use the K strategy (produce few offspring but lavish them with care.)
