International DanceSport Federation
International DanceSport Federation (
IDSF) (formerly ICAD) was founded in
1957. Its Statute says in part: "The International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) is the international federation governing all aspects of
Dancesport worlwide, either directly through its own organs, or through its national member bodies, or by administrative agreements with other persons and
organisations....The IDSF controls all international DanceSport competitions and the granting of DanceSport competitions, which are subject to IDSF rules."
It is a member of the following international federations:
- GAISF - General Association of International Sports Federation
- IWGA - International World Games Association
- ARISF - Association of the IOC Recognised Sports Federations
