Hyndman is a borough located in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 1,005.

census of 2000, there are 1,005 people, 413 households, and 296 families residing in the borough. The population density is 718.6/km² (1,849.6/mi²). There are 448 housing units at an average density of 320.3/km² (824.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 98.11% White, 0.00% African American, 0.60% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.50% from other races, and 0.80% from two or more races. 0.80% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 413 households out of which 30.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.3% are married couples living together, 8.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 28.3% are non-families. 26.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 2.94. In the borough the population is spread out with 24.2% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 22.9% from 45 to 64, and 21.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 90.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 82.3 males. The median income for a household in the borough is $27,700, and the median income for a family is $34,792. Males have a median income of $28,917 versus $21,750 for females.
