Height of Land Township is a township located in Becker County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 639.

Geography

\nAccording to the
United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 185.2 km² (71.5 mi²). 150.3 km² (58.0 mi²) of it is land and 34.9 km² (13.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 18.84% water.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 639 people, 244 households, and 186 families residing in the township. The population density is 4.3/km² (11.0/mi²). There are 385 housing units at an average density of 2.6/km² (6.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 96.56% White, 0.00% African American, 1.56% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.16% from other races, and 1.72% from two or more races. 0.31% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 244 households out of which 28.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.5% are married couples living together, 4.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.4% are non-families. 18.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.62 and the average family size is 2.98. In the township the population is spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 32.2% from 45 to 64, and 9.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 111.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 107.7 males.
