census of 2000, there are 653 people, 266 households, and 172 families residing in the village. The population density is 327.4/km² (849.6/mi²). There are 299 housing units at an average density of 149.9/km² (389.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.93% White, 0.00% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.31% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.61% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 266 households out of which 28.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.8% are married couples living together, 7.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% are non-families. 28.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 3.06. In the village the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 25.0% from 25 to 44, 24.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.1% who are 65 years of age or older.
