Grover Beach is a city located in San Luis Obispo County, California. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 13,067.

census of 2000, there are 13,067 people, 5,023 households, and 3,305 families residing in the city. The population density is 2,174.7/km² (5,637.4/mi²). There are 5,382 housing units at an average density of 895.7/km² (2,321.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 79.75% White, 1.03% African American, 1.69% Native American, 3.75% Asian, 0.30% Pacific Islander, 9.23% from other races, and 4.25% from two or more races. 22.51% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 5,023 households out of which 32.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.9% are married couples living together, 14.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.2% are non-families. 24.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.07. In the city the population is spread out with 25.6% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 32.0% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 94.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $38,087, and the median income for a family is $41,859. Males have a median income of $31,045 versus $26,506 for females. The per capita income for the city is $18,812. 11.3% of the population and 8.8% of families are below the poverty line.
