Gregorio Fuentes
Gregorio Fuentes (

1897 -
January 13,
2002) was a
Cuban nautical captain. Fuentes was captain of the
Pilar, which he sailed through Cuba with his friend
Ernest Hemingway. He is probably the inspiration for the protagonist of
The Old Man and the Sea.
