Grasshopper

Giant South American Grasshopper (Tropidacris violaceus). This insect is two inches long (5 cm).

A Grasshopper is a type of insect similar to a locust but less damaging because it is usually found in much smaller numbers and it doesn't swarm.

Grasshoppers have very powerful back legs and they can jump long distances and they have an open circulatory system in which blood, called hemolymph bathes the tissues directly.
