Gewürztraminer

Gewürtzraminer is a varietal wine that has also given its name to the grape. The literal translation signifies "spicy" from Tramino. This refers to the fact that the wine was made in the northern Italian town of Tramino and that the grape has a spicy flavour. It is now typically grown in the Alsace region of France, and in the German Rhineland. The characteristic of the wine is that there is a strong smell of lychees on the bouquet.
