Georgetown is a town located in Polk County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 1,004.

Geography

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 91.1 km² (35.2 mi²). 78.6 km² (30.3 mi²) of it is land and 12.5 km² (4.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 13.71% water.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 1,004 people, 433 households, and 299 families residing in the town. The population density is 12.8/km² (33.1/mi²). There are 1,274 housing units at an average density of 16.2/km² (42.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 90.44% White, 0.00% African American, 9.06% Native American, 0.20% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.30% from two or more races. 0.50% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 433 households out of which 26.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% are married couples living together, 8.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.9% are non-families. 27.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.32 and the average family size is 2.77. In the town the population is spread out with 22.7% under the age of 18, 4.8% from 18 to 24, 21.2% from 25 to 44, 32.4% from 45 to 64, and 18.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
