George Basevi

Elias George Basevi (1st April, 1794-16th October, 1845) was an English architect famous for designing buildings such as the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge. He died by falling off the tower of Ely Cathedral whilst attempting to survey it.

Basevi was a pupil of Sir John Soane.
