Gentry is a city located in Benton County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,165.

census2 of 2000, there are 2,165 people, 842 households, and 607 families residing in the city. The population density is 351.2/km² (908.3/mi²). There are 930 housing units at an average density of 150.9/km² (390.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 89.84% White, 0.18% Black or African American, 3.42% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 3.33% from other races, and 2.91% from two or more races. 5.59% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 842 households out of which 35.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.6% are married couples living together, 13.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.9% are non-families. 25.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.06. In the city the population is spread out with 29.1% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 29.0% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 90.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 83.9 males. The median income for a household in the city is $31,765, and the median income for a family is $37,569. Males have a median income of $27,361 versus $20,875 for females. The per capita income for the city is $14,309. 13.2% of the population and 11.7% of families are below the poverty line.
