Fairfield is a borough located in Adams County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 486.

census of 2000, there are 486 people, 232 households, and 139 families residing in the borough. The population density is 272.0/km² (708.2/mi²). There are 245 housing units at an average density of 137.1/km² (357.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 98.35% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.62% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.41% from other races, and 0.62% from two or more races. 0.62% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 232 households out of which 25.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.4% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.7% are non-families. 36.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 21.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.09 and the average family size is 2.67. In the borough the population is spread out with 20.8% under the age of 18, 3.7% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 25.5% from 45 to 64, and 23.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 45 years. For every 100 females there are 86.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 84.2 males.
