Elgin is a city located in Wabasha County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 826.

The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.17. In the city the population is spread out with 31.8% under the age of 18, 9.8% from 18 to 24, 32.9% from 25 to 44, 14.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% who are 65 years of age or older.
