East St. Clair Township is a township located in Bedford County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 3,123.


\nAccording to the
United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 87.7 km² (33.9 mi²). 87.7 km² (33.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.03% is water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 3,123 people, 1,198 households, and 894 families residing in the township. The population density is 35.6/km² (92.3/mi²). There are 1,406 housing units at an average density of 16.0/km² (41.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.43% White, 0.51% African American, 0.03% Native American, 0.67% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.26% from two or more races. 0.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 1,198 households out of which 35.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% are married couples living together, 9.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% are non-families. 22.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.61 and the average family size is 3.04. In the township the population is spread out with 26.0% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 30.8% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 12.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 102.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.3 males. The median income for a household in the township is $34,847, and the median income for a family is $38,429. Males have a median income of $28,776 versus $20,170 for females.
