E. H. Carr

Edward Hallet Carr (1892 - 1982) was educated at the Merchant Taylors' School in London, and Trinity College, Cambridge. He joined the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 1916. Resigning in 1936, he became Wilson Professor of International Politics at the University of Wales Aberystwyth. His famous work, What is History? was published in 1961.
