Duboistown is a borough located in Lycoming County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 1,280.

1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 1.7 km² (0.6 mi²). 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 13.85% water.

Demographics

census of 2000, there are 1,280 people, 540 households, and 372 families residing in the borough. The population density is 882.5/km² (2,293.5/mi²). There are 558 housing units at an average density of 384.7/km² (999.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the borough is 98.67% White, 0.16% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.47% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.47% from two or more races. 0.08% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 540 households out of which 28.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.5% are married couples living together, 7.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.1% are non-families. 27.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.36 and the average family size is 2.87. In the borough the population is spread out with 22.7% under the age of 18, 6.3% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 20.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 93.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 85.9 males. The median income for a household in the borough is $35,132, and the median income for a family is $41,450. Males have a median income of $31,172 versus $22,500 for females. The per capita income for the borough is $17,348. 5.3% of the population and 4.0% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 3.5% are under the age of 18 and 6.6% are 65 or older.
