Demographics

census of 2000, there are 763 people, 288 households, and 213 families residing in the village. The population density is 640.4/km² (1,654.6/mi²). There are 300 housing units at an average density of 251.8/km² (650.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.43% White, 0.00% African American, 0.39% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.26% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. 2.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 288 households out of which 41.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.2% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.0% are non-families. 24.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.58 and the average family size is 3.01. In the village the population is spread out with 30.7% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 85.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 77.5 males.
