Digitizing

This article is a stub. You can help Wikipedia by fixing it.

Digitizing or digitization is representing an object or a signal by a discrete set of its points or samples. The result is called digital image, for the object, or digital form, for the signal.

The images we see on the TV screen, the raster display of a computer, or in newspapers are in fact "digitized images".

Digitizing is the primary way of storing images in a form suitable for transmission and computer processing.
