Die Toten Hosen

Die Toten Hosen is a German punk band from Düsseldorf.

The members of Die Toten Hosen ("The Dead Pants" in English) are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Vom Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf).

The band has been together for over 20 years, during which time their songs have become more serious. The band's songs from their first LP were mostly about having fun, however by the end of the 1980s the focus of their songs were more political, such as songs against racism.

Their debut single "Wir sind bereit" was released in 1982, and was followed a year later by their first album, "Opel-Gang". In 1988 they released the LP "Ein kleines bisschen Horrorschau" concurrent with the German theatrical production of A Clockwork Orange based on the book by Anthony Burgess.

Die Toten Hosen have collaborated with numerous other musicians. They are perhaps the only German punk band that is popular outside of Germany.
