Detroit Dam

Detroit Dam was completed in 1953 by the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers on the north fork of the Santiam River in the Cascades. The dam created 400-foot-deep Detroit Lake, more than nine miles long with 32 miles of shoreline.

The dam was authorized for the purposes of flood control, power generation, navigation, and irrigation. Other uses are fishery, water quality, and recreation.

Fishing is allowed from the dam.
