Department for Culture, Media and Sport

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is a department of the British government. It is led by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. Other ministers are the Minister for the Arts, Minister for Sport and Tourism and the Minister for Media and Heritage.

It is responsible for government policy on the arts, sport, broadcasting and related areas. It also deals with gambling and the National Lottery. Before 1997 it was known as the Department for National Heritage, and was created out of various other departments in 1992.
