Delano Township is a township located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 487.

United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 21.2 km² (8.2 mi²). 21.2 km² (8.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.


\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 487 people, 210 households, and 152 families residing in the township. The population density is 23.0/km² (59.4/mi²). There are 224 housing units at an average density of 10.6/km² (27.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 99.18% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.82% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 210 households out of which 24.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.3% are married couples living together, 11.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.6% are non-families. 24.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.32 and the average family size is 2.73. In the township the population is spread out with 17.5% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who are 65 years of age or older.
