Cui Jian

Cui Jian (b. 1961) is an ethnic Korean trumpet player, guitarist and composer from northern China. He joined the Beijing Symphony Orchestra (BSO) aged 20 and left in 1986 after experimenting with rock and roll.

Possibly his most famous song is "I Have Nothing" which became an anthem during the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989.

His work is banned in China.
