Crossing Jordan
Crossing Jordan is a drama about a young, attractive Boston
medical examiner, Jordan Cavanaugh. Jordan (played by Jill Hennessy formerly of “Law & Order”) is emotionally scarred due to her mother's murder when she was a child in the
1970s. Her father, ex-cop Max Cavanaugh (Ken Howard) role-plays murder scenarios with her daughter as he has since her childhood. Her boss, Dr. Garret Macy (Miguel Ferrer), must deal with her erratic behavior as well as his confused family and his own personal demons. Brilliant
forensic entomologist Mahesh “Bug” Vijayaraghavensatyanaryanamurthy (Ravi Kapoor), grief counselor Lily Lebowski (Kathryn Hahn) and wise-cracking British criminalist Nigel (Steve Valentine) round out the cast.
The scientific aspects of the show are comparable to CSI but come with a rock and roll sensibility owing to Jordan's psychological Sturm und Drang.
