Commander in Chief, US European Command

The Commander in Chief, US European Command (or CINCEUR) is the senior US military officer in the US European Command. This has an area of responsibility that includes 93 nations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

There have been thirteen commanders since 1952.

General James L. Jones, USMC, became the thirteenth Commander on 16 January, 2003.

The CINCEUR is also Supreme Allied Commander, Europe (SACEUR).
