Clallam County is a county located in the State of Washington. As of 2000, the population is 64,525. The county seat is at Port Angeles.

U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 6,916 km² (2,670 mi²). 4,505 km² (1,739 mi²) of it is land and 2,411 km² (931 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 34.86% water.

census2 of 2000, there are 64,525 people, 27,164 households, and 18,064 families residing in the county. The population density is 14/km² (37/mi²). There are 30,683 housing units at an average density of 7/km² (18/mi²). The racial makeup of the county is 89.12% White, 0.84% Black or African American, 5.12% Native American, 1.13% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 1.18% from other races, and 2.44% from two or more races. 3.41% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 27,164 households out of which 25.70% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.90% are married couples living together, 9.00% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.50% are non-families. 28.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.40% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.31 and the average family size is 2.78. In the county, the population is spread out with 22.00% under the age of 18, 7.10% from 18 to 24, 22.80% from 25 to 44, 26.90% from 45 to 64, and 21.30% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 44 years. For every 100 females there are 98.70 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 96.60 males. The median income for a household in the county is $36,449, and the median income for a family is $44,381. Males have a median income of $35,452 versus $24,628 for females. The per capita income for the county is $19,517. 12.50% of the population and 8.90% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 17.10% are under the age of 18 and 6.80% are 65 or older.
