Cheyenne is a town located in Roger Mills County, Oklahoma. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 778. It is the county seat of Roger Mills County6.

census of 2000, there are 778 people, 356 households, and 196 families residing in the town. The population density is 303.4/km² (784.6/mi²). There are 417 housing units at an average density of 162.6/km² (420.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 97.04% White, 0.64% African American, 0.64% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.67% from two or more races. 2.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 356 households out of which 26.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.5% are married couples living together, 6.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 44.7% are non-families. 42.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 24.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.08 and the average family size is 2.87. In the town the population is spread out with 22.1% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 23.8% from 45 to 64, and 23.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 43 years. For every 100 females there are 97.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.6 males.
