Chesterland is a town located in Geauga County, Ohio. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,646.

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,646 people, 1,015 households, and 760 families residing in the town. The population density is 232.2/km² (601.7/mi²). There are 1,045 housing units at an average density of 91.7/km² (237.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.75% White, 0.49% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.23% from two or more races. 0.68% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 1,015 households out of which 28.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.2% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.1% are non-families. 22.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.57 and the average family size is 3.01.
