Center Township is a township located in Greene County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,393.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 1,393 people, 517 households, and 412 families residing in the township. The population density is 11.1/km² (28.6/mi²). There are 566 housing units at an average density of 4.5/km² (11.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.78% White, 0.14% African American, 0.07% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.01% from two or more races. 0.50% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 517 households out of which 36.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.0% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% are non-families. 16.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.66 and the average family size is 2.97. In the township the population is spread out with 25.1% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 96.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.7 males. The median income for a household in the township is $31,492, and the median income for a family is $31,850. Males have a median income of $33,958 versus $21,375 for females.
