Catechism of the Catholic Church

The Catechism of the Catholic Church (often abbreviated as the CCC) is an authoritative exposition of the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, published in Latin in 1994, and since then translated into many languages.

The CCC contains a summary of various Church doctorines which are particularly useful to members of The Church. The CCC is laced with footnotes refering to biblical and doctornal passages which support the contents of the section at hand. The Roman Catholic Church looks at the CCC as being equal in authority and value to other scripture, like the Bible. The doctorine of the Catholic Church and the writings within the Catechism are considered part of the Magisterium.
