Casualty

A casualty is a victim of an accident, injury or trauma.

The Emergency room of a hospital is also known as the casualty department in Commonwealth countries for this reason.

Casualties are people who have been killed or injured in a war or disaster. The number of casualties is often quoted by the media in these situations.

Casualty is also the name of a long-running UK television series, set in such a department.
